Join us in a call for climate action

KOALAS NOT COAL!

Join with us for an afternoon gathering and help to send a strong message to government. “Stop approving new coal and gas projects”.

There will be Move Beyond Coal actions across Australia to coincide with the global climate discussions happening in Dubai (otherwise known as COP28). Here are the details of the Yeppoon event:

When: Sunday 3 December, 3-5pm

Where: Merv Anderson Park, Yeppoon (near the Visitor Information Centre)

We need meaningful climate action if we are to stop the demise of our reef, our iconic threatened species like the koala and to protect our lifestyle from the ever increasing severe fires, droughts and floods.

The aim is to get a group photo with lots of placards and banners to show our support for climate action to share through media, Move Beyond Coal and the Queensland and Australian Governments.

What we will be doing:

  • There will be opportunities to have your photo taken with a koala and a dugong
  • We will have a display with information about the work our local community is doing to tackle coal, gas and climate change
  • We’ll have a few nibbles on hand (but please feel free to bring your own drinks and a plate to share)
  • And, most importantly, it is a chance for everyone concerned about the climate change impacts being experienced across the globe to come together and be a voice for our local environment.

This will be a family friendly event, so please bring the family and your friends along!  Limited seating is available, so please also bring a chair or a picnic rug.

We hope you can join us! Please let us know if you can make it.
