Happy New Year!
Let’s hope it is a great year for us and our environment – and that we all do what we can to make this a reality.
General meeting
Thanks to all that came along to our members meeting. It was an engaging discussion greatly assisted by the presentations from the local representatives of the Queensland Conservation Council and Lock the Gate. The conservation movement in Central Queensland is growing which can only help ensuring that the myriad of conservation issues can and will be addressed!
Here are the slides from our presentations:
We also passed a special resolution to amend our constitution so that we could apply for Deductible Gift Recipient Status. Read on…
EnvA is now a DGR endorsed group!
This means that any donations to EnvA are now tax deductible.
We are only a small, regional group with no regular funding to keep up our environmental advocacy here in Central Queensland.
We acknowledge the amazing work that larger conservation organisations do, but we also think that smaller grass-roots organisations play an important role and have many advantages over the big organisations.
We don’t recieve government or fossil-fuel company funding, so we are not contrained in what we say and do. EnvA relies on like-minded people to keep us active as a voice for our community.
Upcoming events
EnvA doesn’t have any events planned at the moment, but there are a couple of events hosted by other CQ conservation groups that you might be interested in attending:

Climate change is already making fundamental changes to our lives, our wellbeing, and our economy. But it’s difficult to talk about it. Perhaps you don’t want to get into an argument, maybe you aren’t confident of the facts, or possibly you think no one else cares?
If you would like to know more about climate change—what it is, how it affects us, and how to discuss it with confidence—this forum is for you!
